The Holiday Season at Mount Carmel; celebrating the warmth of both Thanksgiving and Christmas

With fall just beginning to let us know that it has arrived, it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is arriving in just 2 weeks. The summer flew by, and now it’s time to be thinking and planning for events this holiday season.

At Mount Carmel, we have multiple ways to engage and celebrate the holidays together. We want to make sure you have all of the details you need in order to participate. For all these events, you can find out more information and how to register on our website.

On November 10 – 12, our MC Student Ministry will be attending a fall retreat at Woodland Lakes. This event is for both high school and middle school students. There is still time to register and join in!

The last Mobile Food Pantry of the year will be on November 11. You can still register to help serve at the event on our website.

On November 11, the Young Adult Ministry will be having their annual Friendsgiving event. If you are under 30, and maybe even a bit older, feel free to sign up and come. It’s a great time with food, fun, and friends.

Friday, November 17, our Recharge Bible Study moms will be having their first Momsgiving. This is a time for all of our moms to relax, have great conversations, and enjoy some good eats.

November 19, MC Student Ministry will be having their Friendsgiving. Your high and middle schoolers won’t want to miss out on this one!

On November 27, we’ll be “Decking the Halls with Christmas” décor and we could use your help! We’ll provide supper, and you can provide the help. We’ll need your registration so that we know how much food to bring in!

On December 2, the Women’s Ministry is having a cookie decorating party called “Sweeten the Soul.” You won’t want to miss putting your artistic talents on display!

December 8 will be the Mount Carmel Kid’s Leaders Christmas Party. It will be a great way to kick-off the Christmas season with leaders you are serving with.

On December 10, we will be celebrating all of the baptisms that have occurred this year! You really will want to attend services that day!

Our Mount Carmel Students will have their Christmas party on December 16th. This one is so much fun and you won’t want your high schooler or middle schooler to miss it.

While not directly related to the Christmas season, our Annual Congregational meeting will be on December 17, just after each service. This year we will be presenting refreshed bylaws for affirmation. To learn about changes we are proposing, we are having two bylaw information sessions. One is on November 19 and the other on December 10.

The season culminates with our Christmas Eve services at 3:30, 5:00 and 6:30 pm. There will not be any morning services at Mount Carmel. Candle lighting will be featured at all three services.

We hope that you get to enjoy some of the Christmas festivities at Mount Carmel. We wish you and your family a happy and joyous holiday season.

Blessings –

Jeff
