Easter week at Mount Carmel is always special, and this year is going to be no different. Here’s how you can get plugged into what’s going on that week.
Mount Carmel will be providing two different Good Friday services this year. At the on-campus service, we will offer an outdoor Good Friday experience led by Aaron Adams and Didi Bacon. There will be an introduction, scripture readings, a message, and then a time for reflection and prayer either at the cross on the hill or another area on campus. The service on campus will be at 6:00 pm. We’ll have chairs set out, but you may wish to bring a lawn chair if you want to sit on the lawn or the cross for prayer and reflection.
The online Good Friday service will be a digital Tenebrae service. The Tenebrae service is an ancient church service designed to be a remembrance of Jesus’ final events on earth and His crucifixion. It is a remembrance service with scripture readings, images, video clips, and the extinguishing of candles as each passage of scripture concludes. The service starts off with a moment of communion. If you wish to participate in communion, just have bread or a cracker and grape juice available. If you don’t have communion elements, you may wish to spend this moment in prayer. We will be streaming the online service at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 pm on Good Friday. You can stream the service on demand on YouTube any time after the 6:00 pm service concludes.
On Easter, we will have services at 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11 am. Each service will be identical and will be held on campus and streamed to our online participants. If you aren’t bringing first time visitors, please consider attending the 8:00 am service as the 9:30 and 11:00 services tend to be very crowded.
Holiday seasons can be a tough time for some. If you or a member of your family needs prayer support during this season, you can let us know by filling out our prayer and connect form. Your prayer request will be forwarded to our staff, elders and prayer team.
If you have questions about any of our services or events, you can send an email to office@mountcarmel.cc or give us a call at 513-528-0230.
It is our hope that you and your family have a happy and joyous Easter week!
Blessings –
