Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Philippians 4:4 (NIV)

How do you have joy in the midst of this incessant gloom?

Joy is an outcome of living right for God

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.  Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)
