If you are interested in joining the music team at Mount Carmel, please register for one our quarterly audition dates! We’ll have you play/sing a few songs and do a quick interview to get to know you a little bit. Each audition should take around 30 minutes.
Audition Information & Requirements
Once we see that you are registered for a time slot for the worship auditions,
We will share with you a one drive folder containing all the different song options to audition with.
Please select two songs from the shared OneDrive folder to prepare and perform for the audition. When you have decided on both songs, please send a follow-up email or text ASAP to: jhubbell@mountcarmel.cc, letting me know which songs you will be performing.
What To Expect:
This is what the music portion of the audition setup will look like:
We are throwing you into the environment that you’d be in on a normal Sunday morning, and will plan on you playing/singing some songs from our song library in the respective keys we’d normally do them in. We’ll have you plug into our in-ear system and you’ll play/sing along with David (drums), and me (acoustic/electric guitar), as well as a click and cues track in our ears, which will be a live guide for each song arrangement. If you have your own in-ear headphones, please bring them, but we can provide them if you don’t have any.
Sometimes, our in-ear click track system is a deal breaker for some people, which is why we have everyone try it out! Words and chords will be on the confidence screen, or you’re welcome to bring your own charts if that is what you’re comfortable with.
For Vocalists:
For all singers on the worship team, It is a requirement to be able to sing lead on a song and to support a song by singing harmony.
Each vocalist will be required to pick and perform two songs from our shared song list, but they will need to perform one song on lead and sing one song on Harmony.
For Instrumentalists:
We would like for guitar players to bring their own gear setup. However, we typically use direct in only.
All types of guitarists will be required to pick and perform on two songs from the shared list. Lead guitarists will need to be able to pick out and play any specific lead parts of both songs as well as be able to play other melodic filler that complements the songs. Rhythm/acoustic players will need to be able to rhythmically support both songs
Bass players, Drummers, and Keys players will also be required to pick and perform two of the worship songs from the shared list. Please try to learn parts as close to the recording as you can.
After the music portion is done, we will chat with you for about 15 minutes to get to know you better!
