The work of ministry can be overwhelming.

I believe that it has always been that way, even for Jesus.

In Matthew, chapter 9, we are told:

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:35-38 (NIV)

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. There is more work in ministry than there are those who serve. That is how it is for Mount Carmel Christian Church.

Jesus said we need to ask for from God first and then help the workers He sends in their God assignment!

This summer we have a great number of opportunities for a harvest for the kingdom of God:

Opportunities for commitments to follow Jesus in baptisms.

Opportunities for friendship in groups learning and living scripture together.

Opportunities for acts of love in service. Let me share with you a few

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Will you pray with us to the Lord of the harvest? Will you pray that the Holy Spirit will bring in a harvest of baptisms? Will you pray for a harvest of groups that learn and live scripture together? Will you pray for stories of life change that is the result of our church fulfilling the mission of Jesus?

Will you pray, and will you consider being a worker too? The church is made up of children of God called to do their part in the family business. If you are a part of the family at Mount Carmel, will you ask the Holy Spirit to make known your assignment? Will you say to your assignment and give, serve, go, do, pray, and love?

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
