November elections are coming…
A number of years ago I was invited to be part of a minister’s retreat hosted by Bob Russell Ministries. Bob had recently retired from a 40-year ministry as the Senior Minister of the South East Christian Church. God grew that church into the thousands.
That retreat was a blessing to me, a young and green Senior Minister. Just to spend a few days with other young preachers as Bob Russell and a number of other veteran preachers shared their ministry wisdom with us was priceless. He even treated us to a steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse!
Here is what I admire about Bob Russell. First, his humility. You would never know that he was a “Mega Church Pastor.” He is one of the most approachable and down to earth people I have ever met.
Second, his commitment to continually working on his preaching was an example that I incorporated into my own sermon preparation.
And third is his boldness in speaking the truth. Bob is unwavering in his commitment to the Bible.
