In case you haven’t checked the calendar recently, summer is right around the corner. Plans of extra time spent with family, summer ball games and hopefully vacation is taking a spot on your calendar. Typically this is where I tell you about our week of VBS; to mark it off and make sure you get registered! But not this year; this year, we’re having an entire summer of VBS!
Beginning June 4, our VBS will take place each and every Sunday until August 6! That means that no child will have to miss out on VBS because of family trips. Whether your family attends the 9:30 or the 11:00 service, they’ll be a part of our VBS with identical morning experiences.
It’s our summer of “Learn, Serve + Celebrate!” We’ll learn on Sunday mornings all about the Armor of God with our Keepers of the Kingdom theme. We will serve together on June 25 in the afternoon as we come together to make food packs for impoverished countries. Thirdly, we’ll celebrate God’s goodness on August 6 with a big after-church Sunday Funday! Bring the whole family!
If your child is interested in baptism, the next “KidSplash” class is on June 4 at 6:00 PM followed by “I Took the Plunge” (post-baptism) class at 7:00 PM.
Don’t forget to register your child for summer camp at Woodland Lakes Christian Camp. I’ll be there leading our 4th-6th grade week and our registration is almost full! There are various lengths of camp experiences for all ages. WLCC is an awesome place to get away and experience God!
Finally, our annual Bikes + Burgers event is slated for August 20. This event has fun written all over it! Throw the kids, (ok, ok, I know) and the bikes in the car and join us for the biggest bike-riding-burger-eating bash!
