As we all know, we find ourselves at a time when the entire world is overwhelmed with our current circumstances (i.e., pandemic, hurricanes, finances, etc.). Where do we look for answers? As Christ-followers, in times of trouble, we turn our eyes to the Lord. No matter what we face, God is still on the throne. As believers, we have the opportunity to be sources of hope and comfort at a time when the world is in chaos, confusion, and panic. We know that the answer is in Him, the Creator of heaven and earth. Psalm 121 1-2 says:
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
On Friday, October 1, 2021, Mount Carmel is hosting a Night of Worship & Prayer. The theme is, “I See The Lord,” and during our evening together, we plan to focus our minds and turn our hearts to the Father, who is still seated high and exalted on the throne, as we read in Isaiah chapter 6:
“… I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple…And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
When we gather on October 1, we will share a worship time, including music, scripture, and prayer. Amid the turmoil, we need to take time to refocus, reposition, and re-prioritize our lives. It is time to lift our eyes to Him.
Through all of the chaos and confusion, we know that He is still there, through it all. We are not enslaved to fear, pandemics, or any other challenges the world is facing today. We serve a risen King who is seated high on His throne. He was the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will always be worthy of praise. Jesus has overcome this world, death and the grave. The challenges we face do not overwhelm Him.
Plan to join us on October 1 as we lift our voices to Him in worship and pour out our hearts to Him in prayer. As we gather as a church family that evening, may we proclaim individually and collectively as one body of believers that we serve a risen Saviour! Our God was not and will not be defeated!
